Solenn Heussaff’s recent post has been caught in the middle of various debate from her fans. The debates being that her recent photoshoot may be “romanticizing poverty” because of her choice of location.
Solenn quickly addresses this issue on her Instagram by posting a picture of herself with another artwork in progress. She captions her post by saying she’s been thinking a lot about the comments on her previous posted photoshoot, and clarifies that her art’s goal was “never to hurt or offend anyone”.
The artist explains that her goal was to depict the side of humanity that are often unseen, meaning neither the rich nor poor, but just “streets full of life” showcasing “the abundance and balance of what life was, but also growth and hope”.
Nonetheless, she apologizes to anyone she may have hurt, and thanks everyone for “letting this be an eye-opener” for her.
